Presentation Description: BDD (Buckbee/Doyle/Dupont) has been a team for 19 years training human service providers and others about the power of positive regard and the process of change. We work with care givers in crisis response situations, people in juvenile justice detention facilities, staff of emergency rooms dealing with violent people, teachers and parents. We will introduce, explore and demonstrate the many tools Satir used in her work to teach her ideas: humor, meditation, triads, sculpting, temperature reading and illustrating metaphors.

Presenters: Stephen B. Buckbee, MSW, LPC, is a partner in BDD Training Associates, and retired coordinator of the Human Services Program and Social Sciences Instructor, Bay de Noc Community College, Escanaba, MI. He has a long-standing interest in Satir work and extensive training with her. He is past president of Satir Global, a clinical member of the Satir Institute of the Pacific and the group moderator for an online group called, Satirworks.
Daniel Doyle, MSW, is an adjunct instructor at Bay de Noc College and Lake Superior State University and serves as a Mental Health liaison for the Witness and Victim Advocacy volunteer program in Delta County Michigan. A Licensed Certified Social Worker, he has been a substance abuse Outpatient Counselor, Program Director of the Tipton County Community Mental Health Center and coordinator of Emergency Mental Health Services.
Michael Dupont, MSW, is an outpatient therapist at Pathways Mental Health Center in MI and adjunct instructor at Bay de Noc Community College, has done comprehensive work in the area of substance abuse education with a major focus on family systems. With 16 years’ experience in the substance abuse field, Mike provides therapy services to individuals with severe mental illness. He is a member and past board member of Satir Global.
