Supervising Authentically
Presented by Lynn Parker, Colleen Attoma-Mathews, Michael Lopez-Jensen

A4

Time:   August 3, Sunday, 2 pm - 5 pm

Presentation Description:

We use a model of family therapy supervision shaped by Satir and dedicated to feminist collaboration and intuitive insights. We first met as faculty (Lynn) and students. Over years we’ve developed a working relationship based on authenticity, personal congruence and a commitment to being fully human. We bring a commitment to social justice, deep (soul-full) learning and revelatory laughter to the classroom, the therapy room and the supervision table. We will bring this to you via a live supervision demonstration/collaboration.

Objectives:

  • Participants will view and have opportunity to be active participants in a live demonstration of supervision with a current student in family therapy training utilizing a reflecting team approach.

  • Participants will learn ways to adapt Satir methods and tools for use in supervision and practice with clients.

  • Participants will have opportunity to dialogue openly regarding challenges and experiences of supervision.
