Presentation Description

Centering and Temperature Reading are two Satir ways of beginning and transitioning. We'll begin with a brief guided activity to facilitate self-awareness, connection with self and validation of self as you prepare for the day. After which we'll move into a guided process of taking the group temperature, metaphorically speaking, in the moment. There are typically five parts with some variations depending on who is leading the temperature reading. The five parts are: Appreciations, Puzzles, Complaints with Recommendations, New Information, and Hopes and Wishes.

 

Objectives:

  • Identify the steps within this skill/tool know as "Temperature Reading"

  • Describe how the "Temperature Reading" skill/tool allows for connections, sharing of feelings and resolving issues.

  • Specify the potential use of "Temperature Reading" in their own personal and professional life.
