Presentation Description

We will focus on one LINC protocol, Invitational Intervention: the ARISE Model. It illustrates accessing competence and resilience for lasting recovery and healing. Connectedness or attachment to family and culture of origin correlate with reduced risk-taking behaviors, violence and trauma. Facilitating family and community ties fosters resilience and reduces the effects of stress. Mapping, assessment and intervention consider health, spirituality, culture and life cycle stage. By assessing resources, vulnerabilities, protective factors and goals we facilitate collaboration for building resilience.

 

Objectives:

  • Assess resources and vulnerabilities, protective factors and goals that facilitates collaboration

  • Identify the connection / attachment to family and culture to risk-taking behaviors and violence and consequences of trauma.

  • Describe the process to build positive attachment

Presenter:

Judith Landau, MD, DPM, LMFT, CFLE, CAI, BRI II child, family and community psychiatrist, Senior Fulbright Consultant, President of Linking Human Systems and LINC Foundation, serves as Director of the Recovery Resource Center. She has consulted and taught in 90+ countries, written books, chapters and articles on individual, family and community resilience and is President of International Association of Family Therapy.
